Joyetech eGo One atomiser/battery

Joyetech eGo One

This week I take a look at the new Joyetech eGo One replaceable coil atomiser and battery system.

Joyetech eGo One

The usual solid cardboard box we expect from Joyetech

Inside is the device, instructions and a warranty card.

As well as the device there is a USB lead, 1Amp wall adaptor (for your territory), spare coil head and clear drip tip.

Joyetech eGo One

The device is available in 2 sizes of battery (1100mAh and 2200mAh) and 2 sizes of atomiser (1.8ml and 2.5ml)

First let’s take a look at the batteries, they are 19mm diameter and either 58.5mm (1100mAh) or 85.5mm (2200mAh) in length.

On the bottom end they are etched with the eGo One name on one side and the Joyetech brand on the other. The USB port is also here, it has a red LED beside it which lights when charging (goes off when charging is complete).

On the very bottom there is the Joyetech logo, eGo One name and slogan and a battery vent hole.

The battery top is channelled (although as the eGo One atomiser is side fed, I don’t know why) and has a fixed brass positive pin.

Here we can see the firing button, it is illuminated around the edge in white to indicate use and battery charge level (it will flash faster as the battery is drained).

Joyetech eGo One

Here we can see the two sizes of atomiser (1.8ml and 2.5ml), barely any difference in size.

This is the 2.5ml atomiser, the 1.8ml is identical (capacity and length aside) in all respects.

The stock drip tip is a metal over plastic design with dual o-rings. There is an additional (shown in the spares photo above) ‘organic glass’ drip tip included in the kit.

The 510 is stainless steel and fixed. Neither the battery nor the atomiser 510s are adjustable but as they are designed for each other that is not an issue at all.

The tank is shrouded in a metal shell for protection, has slots in that shell to see juice levels and is very similar to the Delta design with one exception.

The bore of the tube above the coil head. It is a virtually straight bore with just a tiny lip inside for the head to seal against.

The replaceable coil itself is of a familiar design, vertical coil (in either 0.5 or 1.0 ohm) surrounded by a cotton wick.

Joyetech eGo One

It seals into the tank with a small o-ring and has 4 juice holes in the sides.

The coil head screws into the base as seen above.

And, it has the ‘classic’ bottom positive pin.

The base has adjustable air flow by turning the ring to open or close the 2 slots. You can also see a pin in the slot, to allow easier unscrewing of the base from the tank.

So opinions of the Joyetech eGo One…

The device is small and compact, especially in the 1.8ml/1100mAh format.

Heads as always are best primed with a couple of drops of juice before use but once setup the eGo One really performs rather well.

Vapour production is excellent for the size and on par with similar devices of this design, likewise with flavour.

Information of the batteries is a little scarce at the moment.I have asked for confirmation on the battery output and will update you as soon as I hear back from Joyetech.
I suspect (based on performance of the device) that the batteries have a fixed voltage output like previous eGo batteries.
**Update** Joyetech have now confirmed that the batteries are ‘direct’ and hence voltage does deteriorate as they empty.

The stock drip tip options are fine and, as the atomiser will take standard sized driptips, you can use your own if your prefer.

They are light, the small battery and atomiser combo weighing in at 80grammes and the larger of each adding up to 104grammes.

The discharge indication of the button LED is a nice touch, Joyetech included this image to help understand what it doesbattery

Overall these are great little devices for vapers, they might not satisfy the cloud chasers but they do vape very well for the average vaper. Essentially they are the scaled down versions of the new Delta 2 atomiser (a great device, review coming soon) and are a very competent product.

Available from your favourite Joyetech seller soon (maybe already in stock) for …

Atomisers at 20 dollars/euros,
Batteries are on the site at 32 and 37 dollars/euros for the 1100 and 2200mAh respectively,
