Vaporesso Estoc Mega Tank
This week I am taking a look at the Vaporesso Estoc Mega Tank, a 22mm replaceable coil atomiser.
The Vaporesso Estoc Mega comes in a cardboard box with a pull out drawer. The cover shows the device clearly and states it to be a 4ml tank that measures 22mm in diameter and 55mm in length.
Opening the flap of the drawer reveals our atomiser, a spare glass tank and a spare coil (one is already installed).
The documentation for the device comes in a small black envelope, it consists of a user guide, warranty card, safety notice and a promo piece about the special CCell ceramic coils.
Under the plastic tray that holds the atomiser I found a pair of atomiser toppers, that I assume just sit on the top of the atomiser as decoration (although they might offer some protection as well).
The spare coil is a 0.4ohm CCell coil, with the 0.5ohm version pre-installed.
Here we have a full view of the Vaporesso Estoc Mega tank.
It has a stainless steel threaded 510 that also has a fixed position brass positive pin.
Air flow is provided via a rotating ring in the base that covers/reveals a pair of large slots.
Frankly the airflow of the atomiser is great, larger that what could pass through the coil air way.
The top of the tank has a pre-installed delrin drip tip, it is a standard size and so could be replaced with any drip tip from your collection if you wished.
The tank is a top filling type, the top cap just unscrews and you can fill the tank and replace the top.
Removing the top also allows for the glass tank to be removed for cleaning, or replaced if damaged.
The centre of the tank can also be unscrewed, this provides access to the coil and makes cleaning easy.
The replaceable coil just sits in the tank base, no screw threads it just pushes into place and stays there.
Here is the replaceable coil, this one has been used for over a week and then rinsed in water. They last really well for a long time.
And finally, here is the tank base, the coil just pushes into the central hole where it makes contact with the base body and the brass positive in the centre.
So, opinions …
The Vaporesso Estoc Mega tank atomiser is much like most top fill tanks, it has a replaceable glass tank, an easy to use top filling method and it has plenty of air flow with a standard sized drip tip.
What will make an atomiser like this good or bad is the coil, and this atomiser has a very good coil.
I am a rebuildable coil guy myself so for a coil to impress me it has to be good to justify the extra cost, any problem and I am going to want to make my own coils.
The Estoc CCell is fantastic, it has sufficient airflow for lung or mouth hits, it has a vertical coil design that gives great vapor output and flavour and it also has remarkable longevity.
When I photograph coils I usually use a clean and unused coil, this time I showed a 2 week old one as I was impressed with how well it rinsed out after that much use.
The filling never caused any flooding of the coil, it also has wicking speeds that kept up with my heavy use.
Changing the coil is rather easy as well, really like the unthreaded coil as it makes removing and replacing a lot quicker and cleaner to do.
I am very pleased with the Estoc atomiser, definately a good atomiser to get for anyone that prefers replacing coils rather than rebuilding them.
The Vaporesso Estoc Mega tank was provided to me, free of charge for review, by Heaven Gifts (an online, China based, retailer). I received no other incentives for this review.
The Vaporesso Estoc Mega tank is available from many retailers including Heaven Gifts, who charge $20 ($19 for the stainless steel version) for the device.
